Recipe detials:

1 c Sugar

3/4 c Oil

3 Eggs

1 ts Vanilla

3 c Flour

1 ts Baking powder

1 c Almonds; sliced

This is a heavy dough! Cream sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Sift and add flour, baking powder. Stir in nuts. Put on a baking sheet in strips about 4 to 5" wide, the length of the baking sheet, and about 3/4" thick. Leave space between strips. Bake at 350 degrees about 20 minutes until firm, but not brown.

Carefully transfer to a cutting board, and cut into 1" slices. Lay the slices, on their sides, on a cookie sheet. Toast slices in the oven, turning if necessary until brown (about 30 to 35 minutes). Watch carefully.
