Joe Public
I agree with your stance, would rather vote for someone who's beliefs are more like my own and what Church Leaders in the past have presented, and so far, have not seen that in Mitt Romney. I could respect him more, if he acted Mormon and stood his ground on things. I think conservative Christians would get a much better idea of Mormons and realize we are not so different.
It would help if others realized that we believe in agency, and we do not believe in pushing our will and doctrine onto others, except in very important moral issues.
I am left with the feeling, what does Mitt believe, if he jumps every-time his gets pinned down, like most other politicians.
The person who most en-bodies what President Benson said we should vote for, lies in Ron Paul. In fact in the news, they noted that some Mormon's were actively campaigning in NV for Ron Paul, so I guess I am not the only one thinking it.
I do not think you can become president of this country by acting Mormon more. Once he isn't breaking any of the temple recommend rules the rest is just opinion and politics.

Comments: How true is it that Romney might team up with Ron Paul as his Vice President? To me they have vast political differences.
I would really rather see Ron Paul get the GOP bid now, a month ago, thought, for Romney to win, he should team up with Ron Paul. I think they could learn something from each other,Romney from Paul.
I was not so much suggesting that Romney should let more of his Mormonism show, for lack of a better way to put. He should act and be Mormon, but then maybe I should not expect other Laster Day Saints to have my understanding of what one should be like, we do come in all different understandings and attitudes.
But any Latter Day Saint who has read what the previous, this Era Prophet have said, should be basic constitutionalist like Ron Paul portrays himself to be.And he should not be wishy washy, unless he is actually realizing he has been in error and needed to change.
He does not have to put Mormonism out there, but if he is a light, he should not hide it either. We are not like everyone else, we should not portray ourselves as such. We should be who we are, and that does not get us elected, then so be it. We should not compromise our beliefs and understanding.
If others really knew us, they would realize that like Captain Kirk in Star Trek, and the Federation, we have a prime directive, we do not force our wills onto others, that would be unrighteous dominion, and a violation of others right to agency. But I guess, not all follow that rule, we do have problems with it in the Church, have seen it in operation, in many Wards I have been in.

Florida pastor to Romney: Renounce "racist" Mormonism
Florida preacher says the LDS Church is biased against blacks, Jews and American Indians. The Rev. O"Neal Dozier, senior pastor of The Worldwide Christian Center Church on Pompano Beach, Fla., says Democrats and President Barack Obama would use Romney's "racist religion as a secret weapon" to attack the Republican in the general election.
