Mitt Romney make another elitist faux pas
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney just keeps giving the media ammunition when it comes to his elitism. Name dropping his 'NASCAR owner' friends, casually slipping in the multiple Cadillacs he owns, the "I don't want to help the poor gaffe," were bad enough - but he's done it again. This time Romney tried to tell a "humorous" story, but most people won't see the hilarity in this one. Ref. Source 3
Romney scares me in a way. I'm afraid he will be just known as the Mormon president and nothing more. I really hope he has good plans to change the situation we are under otherwise I foresee a disaster.
Too much credit and mistakes are placed on the President, when actually Congress is the one that make the laws, well normally. Most of what we are blaming a President for, should go to those in Congress.
I agree though, hopefully he will not be know for just being a Mormon President. But at the same time, if that is all he is, it may open more doors for the Gospel to go out.
It is predicted in our writings that the Constitution will hang by a thread, and the Elders of Israel will save it from falling. It may not be the end event now, but maybe this could be the beginning. It may help more people to see that they can trust us, and that we are not some weird cult.
I would hope, that he would be Mormon, and not be afraid to express, and work with all religious and groups with similar values to bring this nation back.
Obama camp will 'throw Mormon church' at Romney
"You can find some pretty outlandish statements by some of our early leaders that we've all had to live with from time to time, but he handles it very well and I think he's going to do a good job," Hatch told the gathering of delegates in this town about 20 minutes north of Salt Lake City. Hatch, who frequently mentions Romney in his stump speeches, also asserted that attempting to assail Romney for his Mormon faith would only backfire. Ref. Source 2
Anti-Mormon bigotry
Apparently MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell missed the religious-attacks-aren't-cool memo, because on the very same day as Hatch's controversial comments O'Donnell blatantly attacked Romney's religion by making inflammatory and inaccurate statements about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its founder, Joseph Smith, during political programming intended to offer analysis of Tuesday's presidential primaries in Wisconsin, Maryland and Washington, D.C. Since Rick Santorum suspended his campaign due in most part to his daughter's hospitalization it looks like its all free sailing for Mitt Romney now. Romney vs. Obama for President, who will win?
Had not heard that yet, guess it will be on the evening news, thanks. The GOP needed to of consolidated before now, instead of shredding each other and giving Obama more fuel; finally something is right. One has to always wonder, an excuse to save political face or providence from God, a tender mercy extended to Romney. Choosing a VP I think will be crucial for Romney, it could break him, if he does not choose wisely.
