Just 18 percent express anti-Mormon voting bias
A new Gallup poll shows that the percentage of Americans who would not vote for an otherwise qualified Mormon candidate for president stands at 18 percent, almost exactly the same as the 17 percent in 1967, when Mitt Romney's father was running for president. Ref. Source 1
Mitt Romney retreat in Deer Valley seen as 'rock concert' for Republicans
The retreat, which ends Sunday with a round of golf, is a perk for Romney's top supporters. The price tag for admission was contributing a minimum of $50,000 or raising at least $250,000 for the Romney Victory fund. Ref. Source 9
Romney quotes Book of Mormon in speech
"Today we feel not only a sense of grief, but perhaps also of helplessness," Romney said. "But there is something we can do. We can offer comfort to someone near us who is suffering or heavy-laden. And we can mourn with those who mourn in Colorado." [..] Romney has not been known to throw out LDS references in his speeches, though has noted Bible passages before. Ref. Source 6
The Mitt Romney effect on Mormon mission curiosity
Call it the Mitt Romney effect.
It's understandable. For the first time in history, a "Mormon" will be the official nominee for president of a major political party. More people than ever before are Googling or Yahooing the name of the LDS Church, well-known members and common myths. Ref. Source 6
I have considered that fact, that Mit could be the beginning of the White Horse Prophecy, even if he does not at preset, make it to the Presidency. The Church has of recent years, become ever increasing drawn into the public light. So many are seeing, we are not what the negative media keeps saying we are.
For a Mormon to become President, they would have to have money and influence, just like any other candidate running for office. Congress and the Democrats keep yelling about things that are of no consequence or things they are doing themselves. They keep hitting on Mit to show more of his tax returns, when in realty, most Congressmen do not and have not; something like only 7% have fully disclosed all of their holdings and returns. It seems like the kettle calling the pot black or something.
Mit could be the one who does it, or starts the process, as it does Elders, seemingly meaning more then one. I have always had the feelings from the Spirit, that over time, people will recognize that we can be trusted, and will seek us out; well some or most can be trusted, you know how that goes, always a few worms in any crowd.
Just saw a interview in the paper, from a past President of a European Nation, he praised Mit and said he and other European heads, felt he had what it took to turn things around, and he said he denied a visit by Obama last year or so; what does that tell you.
The Church in the lime light, we have been push down, because the media and people knew so little about us, making it so easy for rumors and lies to be believed and spread by others. Now that our candle in in greater view of the whole world, people will be able to see the truth.
I think some Christan who did not like us in the past, for our difference in Doctrine, are seeing the light, if we don't join together and put our concerns aside, darkness could prevail.
