Romney's Mormon Story
So far, Romney has said very little about his faith in this campaign, which is clearly how he likes it. Indeed, his campaign has pushed back vigorously against even innocuous press coverage of Mormon folkways and beliefs, on the theory that trying to explain a much-distrusted, much-misunderstood religion could only distract from the economic message. Romney's religion has little to do with the election how others should vote for him, yet it does. We believe in Revelation, yet we also believe in free agency and how it gets expressed or accomplished, comes out of own inherited traits and learng as we grew up.
This came up on the way home from a High Priest Group Leadership meeting last Sunday. One person said, hopefully he turns to God for answers and he did that or even went to the Temple to pray, to get a clearer picture of who to choose for VP. Not worried about God's will, and in put, worried Romney will not take advantage of the Spiritual Connection, which our early national leaders did, in this nations youth.
Back then, one had to be a practicing Christian, of good standing, to even run for office in the US.
