The Navy plans to buy sophisticated new Israeli-made automatic gun systems to protect its frigates from the threat posed by terrorists using explosive-laden speedboats.

Guns Anti-terror Plans Navy Us
This is a great idea. Not many countries make weapons like Israel does. This is one of the suggestions that was made to the military several years ago soon after 9/11, protecting them from suicide bombers in boats. It sounds weird to do, but not unlikely. We should be able to spot those types of crazies fairly quickly and stop them from reaching the ship that is the target of the attack.
