MUSLIMS MUST ACCEPT SOME BLAME FOR ANTI-ISLAM VIEWS: MUBARAK
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is urging Muslims to accept some of the responsibility for the way Islam is seen around the world.

Good for him, Muslims do need to take responsibility for the way they are viewed. When you are willing to sacrifice your self to kill the enemies of Allah, peoples views on you and your religion are necessarily going to reflect the disdain for that type of faith. I'm not anti-Islam any more than I am anti-christian. I am against faith that will allow you to kill someone else for your beliefs.
These are good words coming from a arab leader. He really does seem to be the only one who really gets "it" in the region. He wanted his land back that he lost for attacking Israel four times and losing four times and the economic benefits that dealing with Israel would bring. It showed that Israel does want peace and would be willing to pay for it (not sure if this is a good precedent) by giving back to Egypt all the land it lost in its attacks. Remember, this land would give Israel a nice holding in the Suez and more than double the size of its country. This doesn't even count the fact that large reserves of oil were detected in the region while it was under Israeli control:

That is a LOT of land to give back for peace!
The only other country to sign a treaty with Israel is Jordan.
It seems that Mubarak and his country have seen the light and have evolved into a prosperous nation that still embraces their religion...but not nearly as fanatically as others. GOOD ON YOU!
Hosni Mubarak needs to be commended on his stance, indeed having someone at this level of public office making such a statement is both courageous and shows an unbiased realistic view of what is going on even if it is just to secure peace with Israel as Vincenzo hinted.
