The harsh winter still has a tight hold over Berlin: A thick layer of snow lies over the German capital. Many streets have not been cleared as cars, buses and trains struggle to make any headway. Pedestrians are not faring much better as walkways are too slippy due to the ban on grit and salt. DW reporter Heidi Grot has come up with an alternative method of transport: Cross-country skis.
