White Teacher Says Blacks Are Inferior
Do you think that someone with these sort of views should be allowed to teach in a public school?

Inferior Blacks Teacher White

I agree that he is offensive and unacceptable in his opinions. However, how do we forbid someone to teach because of their personal views? How many people in teaching positions, and other positions of authority, are completely and totally unbiased? In a perfect world, perhaps, but I've yet to meet anyone who is completely unbiased.
I'm not defending his opinion or agreeing with him in any way. Except for the part where Freedom of Speech enters the scenario. He has a right to his opinions, and a right to express them, no matter how offensive we happen to find them.
Inferior Blacks Teacher White
I agree, I suppose he is entitled to his view as long as he does not teach it on his classroom, misuse his authority as teacher to try to indirectly teach it or treat (in this case) his African American students any less just because he feels they are "inferior".

It is somewhat an utopia to think that it is possible not to try and teach others our beliefs. We do it all the time in things like religion, sports, politics, even in fashion or tastes.
Also we have to see that having an opinion is one thing. Just being wrong is another different thing.
For example, I can't say that "in my opinion 1 + 1 equals to -4". Because it's not a question of opinion it's right or wrong. And his statements are just wrong and if I'm allowed to say it, stupid.
I believe that until he learns that a human being is a human being and all human being are equal ( at birth at least), he will not be able to be a good teacher.
In my opinion of course.
