The mobile phones of Greece's prime minister and several cabinet members were tapped by unknown perpetrators for about one year, the government said on Thursday. "The phones tapped included the prime minister's, those of cabinet members, one former minister, now in opposition, and others," government spokesman Theodore Roussopoulos told a news conference, confirming an earlier report in the major daily Ta Nea.

The article keeps referring to unknown perpetrators, yet charges have been filed against somebody. Why won't they say who these perpetrators are? Is it because there is some implication to espionage or because these are, for example, college students who were looking to see if they could hack someone's phone? It is also interesting that this occurred during the time of the Summer Olympics in Greece; it makes you wonder if there was any link there.
