Couple Aborts Twin Boys Because They Only Want a Daughter
Parenting
An Australian couple, whose first daughter died in infancy, are so desperate for another baby girl they're taking the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal to court for the chance to employ sex-selective IVF.

In my opinion, and that is all given I don't know all that is happening in this situation, this couple needs some sessions with a psychologist to help them understand that they cannot make their daughter live again.
As a mother of six young boys ages 1-11, this saddens my heart. This family is missing out on wonderful opportunities and learning brought by having young boys around. I wouldn't change having my 6 boys for anything else in this world! I would have taken a daughter if blessed with one, but am just so grateful to be able to have children at all. My husband and I underwent fertility treatment for three years until our first son was born. We haven't had any problems since. However, we will not be able to have any more children, but we would never have done sex selection. We would have been just as thrilled if our children would have been all girls, or a mix of boys and girls. We have been blessed by God to be able to have children, and we didn't keep "trying to have children" for the sake of getting a daughter, but rather out of a love to have children, raise them well, and experience the joy that is found through being a parent. I understand that this couple lost a daughter, but it seems they are trying to replace her. No life can be replaced, just remembered and honored. I also think that this couple needs some counseling. Psalms 127:3-5 "Children are an heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is his reward...Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."
