Do you check to see who your buddy is and as the buddy do you zero in on those who want to be your buddy? The buddy system allows members to select an active moderator as a friend and guide on the board. You can see examples of this in the Welcome board and more about it is explained in the FAQ.
I felt it very difficult to select one person as my buddy, but decided with LDS_forever, since she makes me laugh. I do notice those that select me as their buddy (I think there's only 2 right now) and I tend to communicate with them a lot, since they've expressed an interest in me.
It was difficult for me to choose one, too. What I decided to do is to leave for a while one person and then with time changed it to another buddy and so on. So far I had Nighthawk as my buddy because I learnt a lot from him and now I have Malexander as my buddy, I think we have several things in common and his character in Love Bytes makes me laugh so much. Yes, I do notice other members having me as their buddy and makes me feel very happy! Thank you guys!.
I had LDS_Forever listed as my buddy for a few months after I first arrived but have recently switched it to konquererz. I am not exactly sure why I chose to switch it yet after spending the time reading so many posts by so many people and having everyone help me when I began posting that I will most likely show everyone as a buddy at some point in time.
I just noticed while reading this discussion that LDS_forever has since switched her buddy after she posted in this discussion. I guess I lost favor with her
You know I was actually thinking of making this more of a neutral thing with general selections rather than actual names for a couple of reasons:
1. I do not think buddies chosen really acknowledge those that have chosen them as buddies
2. The ability of a buddy to really help someone is limited.
Just having general selections like "Any Mod", "Any RPGer", leaves room open. What do you think?
