What does it mean to have a Kindred Spirit?

I'm not sure why this is in the mystic and paranormal section. Kindred spirits have less to do with spirits and more to do with having the same likes and dislikes. Kindred spirits are people who just seem to go together, they fit. They can be mates, or friends, or partners who seem to fit together hand in glove. I have been told that me and my wife are kindred spirits. We compliment each other in nearly every way. We think alike and even come up with the exact same ideas at exactly the same time. Well, I don't know if we count as kindred spirits, but she is the closest person to that description I have ever met.

I believe it is here because some mystics believe that certain connections are someone how bred on other planes of existence, or in other words the connection is greater than simply a like or dislike of something in the material world.
