I think David Letterman did a pretty fine job of answering Bill!

However, sure I want the US to win in Iraq. But more importantly, I want the Iraq people to win. There might be a short term victory for the US, if it does win in Iraq. But truthfully, the determination of winning or losing will be fought for and decided long after the US and Co. leave Iraq. History will be the judge.

What Letterman said in the end I have committed to memory because I always encounter people who expect you to give them a black or white answer and not everything is so cut and dry.

My answer would be this, "So, they have not won already? Yes, I want the US to win in the Iraq, but I also want the Iraq people to win peace and begin living a normal life today."
