Tolerance, Health and Fascism
By Dennis Prager
I cannot count the number of times I heard liberal professors and liberal writers quote the phrase: "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." The phrase is brilliant. There is actually no threat to America of fascism coming from the right. The essence of the American right, after all, is less government; and fascism, by definition, demands ever larger government. Ref. Source 8
Man Who Shot Up Pro-Life Office "Wanted to Kill Conservative, Right-Wing Christians"
The defense attorney for Floyd Lee Corkins, who shot up the offices of the Family Research Council, on August 15, 2012, says he wanted to kill "conservative right-wing Christians."
Corkins entered the lobby armed with a loaded semi-automatic pistol, 100 rounds of ammunition, and 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches. He started firing at FRC's building manager Leo Johnson who heroically tackled the shooter after a gunshot shattered his arm. Ref. Source 5
Not that I necessarily agree with the Christian right or even mixing religion with politics but at the same time I think if there was not a conservative side to politics there would be a lot of chaos - its a good balance.
A new study by the Pew Research Center shows a sharp drop in the number of American Christians -- from 78% of the population to 71% in seven years-- mainly because millennials are leaving the fold.
Just 56% of millennials consider themselves Christians.
Meanwhile, religiously unaffiliated Americans -- often called the "Nones" -- form nearly 23% of the population, a greater percentage than Catholics and mainline Protestants.
Pew's study comes from a survey of 35,000 American adults and is generally considered one of the most accurate reflections of the country's religious landscape. Ref. CNN
Tim Tebow Calls on Christians to Stand Up for Christian Values in America
At a recent event in Tennessee, Tim Tebow said that Christians need to stand up for Judeo-Christian values in America. He said, “What’s amazing when you get up and do something is what God does in your life. We just have to get up and do something. When your identity is found in Christ, your identity never changes." Trump: 'In America we don't worship government, we worship God'. "It is why our currency proudly declares, 'In God We Trust,'" Trump continued. "And it is why we proudly proclaim that we are one nation, under God, every time we say the Pledge of Allegiance." Ref. Source 8t.
There is nothing wrong with President Trump giving a commencement speech at this university. There is also nothing wrong with him expressing his opinion about God. I mean, many of our laws and ethics are based on Judeo Christian principles.
