The Rev. Ted Haggard said Friday he bought methamphetamine and received a massage from a male prostitute. But the influential Christian evangelist insisted he threw the drugs away and never had sex with the man.

Why anyone would possible believe him? He has kept this a secret for years.
From the article:
QUOTE |
Jones took a lie-detector test Friday, and his answers to questions about whether he had sexual contact with Haggard "indicated deception," said John Kresnick, who administered the test free at the request of a Denver radio station. |
QUOTE |
Jones told reporters afterward: "I am confused why I failed that, other than the fact that I'm totally exhausted." |
Well, it is all pretty much a moot point now.
Mr. Haggard has resigned his position, and admitted to purchasing crystal meth. However, he continues to deny having had anything to do with a male prostitute.
Of course, since has worked towards improving the national culture, it doesn't matter whether he actually did anything or not. Just the accusation is enough to totally destroy his life. And, the admission to drug use is just icing on the cake.
The Left gets a big win with this one. Especially right before a critical election.
I have an idea. Perhaps if you want a massage, you should try a masseuse and not a prostitute. Masseuses sell massages and Prostitutes sell something completely different. If you don't want drugs, don't buy methamphetamines. The only thing that is missing is the story about his dog eating his homework too...OR...what about wanting eternal salvation, but not too excited about following those "10 Best Ideas".
How would you feel as a member of this man's congregation? How many times have you shaken his hand, and had him smile in your face? How would you feel knowing that your cash offerings and donations to his church went into his pocket? I would be outraged, to say the least. Step down, sir, and disappear into oblivion, please.
