SCREAM AS TEEN DIES IN BLAST

Screams filled the air as a Marlborough teenager lay dying after an LPG cylinder his friends were inhaling from exploded in the back of their car.

It is called "huffing" and can be done with most any aerosol and many chemicals with stong fumes. None of the materials involved are illegal and are probably right in your kitchen, bathroom or garage.

The article give a few clues as what parents can look for from a child that is huffing chemicals.

It can even been done with Helium. Remember sounding like Donald Duck after breathing just a little helium? Well, take in too big a balloon full and you might find yourself on the floor or possibly even worse.

However, I have to say that inhaling LPG and playing with matches has got to be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. I feel bad for the kids that wasted their lives and the parents who have to continue to live after their children are gone.

Back in my country, this is a very common problem particularly with "chicos de la calle". ("street children") Most of them because of the lifestyle a kid has living in the streets, they usually end up falling for this addiction.
