With a now Democratic House and Senate, I decided to take a look at the use of presidential vetoes from the past administrations. I was somewhat shocked at Bush's and Lincoln's low talley and quite interested in FDR's and Truman's huge quantity. Realizing FDR was the only one to be elected to a 3rd term, it is still a large number! FDR and Truman actually had a ruling majority in the house and senate. However, the number one shocker was Cleveland's strange numbers that seem to come and go from no where. I will be studying what was going on at that time to try and uderstand his actions. Take a look at the talley for yourself:

Think Bush will be using that veto power a bit more frequently now?

I think that will be likely. Bush has only had one veto because he has had a rubber stamp congress behind him. Six years and he has done anything he wanted with no opposing voice to stand against him. But that will stop now. He may veto allot in the next two years, but he won't be doing the same stuff he has been for six years, and his opponents are glad. I would be glad to see Bush not get anything done in two years as opposed to seeing what has happened in the last six years. On the other hand, I'm sure he will be using veto power to insure the democrats get nothing done either, he does want the republicans to win the next election.
