Savetnt Introduction

I'm the Director if Let's Make a Difference-Save T&T, a program that was launched on October 17th with the release of an online petition that seeks the passage and amendment of specific laws to attend to the escalating crime rate of Trinidad and Tobago. While I understand that crime is a symptom of a bigger problem in our society, I also believe we must start somewhere to begin to curb this illness. Since the petition's launch we have garnered more than 200 signatures from nationals at home and abroad and I would like to appeal to my fellow Trinbagonians to participate in this venture. Let's not hold the mentality that once it does not happen to us, it does not affect us. It's time to depart from that zone. Besides many of us think that resorting to fiery protests will aid our grievances. This strategy has been used for many years, but all this does is intensify the outrageous situation that existed before. We need to leave the party atmosphere for the clubs and fetes. According to the CIA World Factbook 98.6% of our population (1,065,842) is literate. It's time to exercise this knowledge and approach our leaders with diplomacy. We already have more than 200 hundred warriors on the bandwagon and it's open for many more who are willing to shed the mentality that NOTHING CAN BE DONE.

Welcome to the Community. You run this program from New York? I remember there was a similar thing done here where over 200,000 figures were recorded, but it seemed to make no difference, because when they presented it to the President he simply said he could do nothing? How do you expect an online program to change things / or are you just pushing awareness?

JB I see your point, but this program is totally different from that one you are speaking about. I undertand that their matters were presented to the President, but our program is on another course. Trinbagonians do not like to go all the way. There are 4 groups involved in the law making process. Each of these groups need to be notified of the citizens concerns. Another case in point is being persistent, a quality that many folks lack. In reagrd to your question, about me I will get straight to the point. I am a strong-minded and goal-oriented individual. My intesrests are writing, travelling, languages and handicrafts.
