-MARY WILSON BWVB02B 1 1/2 c All-purpose flour

1/2 ts Baking powder

1 Stick (1/2 cup) butter or

-margarine, at room temp. 1 c Confectioner's sugar

1 lg Eggs

1 ts Lemon peel; freshly grated

1 cn (20 oz) apple slices;

-drained 1/2 c Golden raisins

1 ts Ground cinnamon

For garnish: Confectioner's sugar Heat oven to 350~ F. Grease an 11x7-inch baking pan. Mix flour and baking powder. In a large bowl, beat butter and confectioners' sugar with electric mixer until pale and fluffy. Beat in egg and lemon peel. With mixer on low speed, gradually add flour mixture. Remove 2/3 cup dough. With floured fingers, pat remaining dough over bottom of prepared pan. Spread apple slices mixed with golden raisins and ground cinnamon. Spread over dough, using a rubber spatula to break up apples if needed to cover dough. Roll remaining dough into long ropes and lay diagonally across filling to create a lattice effect. Bake 30 minutes or until top is golden brown. Cool in pan. Dust with confectioners' sugar before cutting. Per bar: 148 cal, 2 g pro, 23 g car, 6 g fat, 26 mg chol with butter, 15 mg chol with margarine, 71 mg sod. Exchanges: 1/2 starch/bread, 2/3 fruit, 3/4
