Center of Your Living Room

What do you prefer to have in the Center of Your Living Room: a mat, carpet, table, aquarium, conversation piece or just bare so everyone can pass freely?

Nothing goes in the middle of the living room. Things like tables and such just get in the way and make it easier for me to add a bruise to my knees and stub my toes when I come home to a dark house at five AM after work. Nothing is more frustrating then getting hurt in the dark after thirteen hours of work.

I have a rug. I used to have a coffee table, but I got rid of it for the same reason konquererz doesn't have one. It just got too painful owning one, but I do have these little dinner trays I can pull out for anyone drinking or eating inn the living room.

I have a coffee table in the middle of our living room. I think leaving the middle open or bare makes the room seem empty and incomplete. However, as have been stated so far in this discussion, I too have stubbed my toes and shins on the table many times.

The centre of my living room is bare, we used to have a coffee table years ago, but it wouldn't be safe in the middle, as my kids never seem to walk anywhere, they are always in a great big rush, so I think for our family personally, it would be an accident waiting to happen!
