I wonder what happened? Did he die of natural causes or did he have a heart attack? I know a lot of flights are delayed or diverted to other airports in a case of illness or medical problems on board.

Probably he died of a heart attack, how terrible! I would like to think the passengers were not informed since I am pretty sure they would get too anxious and distress.

I feel sorry for the pilots family and death but this whole episode was far to dramatic to me.

You have three people who are qualified to fly and land a plane why was there so much panic because the main pilot died? Just made little sense to me and likely caused much panic in many homes of every pilot's home who might have been up that day.

I am trying to figure out why they did not divert the flight to the nearest airport to try and get the pilot some medical help? I wonder if he would still be dead if they had.

Krakyn, what panic are you referring to? All the reports I read stated that the passengers did not know anything about the death of the pilot and the crew handled the whole thing in a very professional manner.
