Glenn in recovery
After being in pain most of the night, Glenn ended up leaving the radio program early yesterday to see a doctor. Turned out the pain was appendicitis and Glenn underwent surgery. Everything went well and he is now in recovery and doing fine. Glenn and his wife Tania are so thankful for all the kind words, prayers and support from everyone. Well, almost everyone. Those compassionate loving liberal bloggers were bummed things didn't end differently for Glenn. Ref. Glenn Beck
South Park hits Glenn
People just can't seem to get enough Glenn lately. Stewart, Colbert, SNL, Playboy and now South Park have all spent time making fun of Glenn. In this episode of South Park, Eric Cartman takes on the role of Glenn Beck. Glenn plays a little of the clip and reacts. Ref. Source 4

Wow, I must admit I don't like his style but the persons who wrote that are absolutely crazy. It is absolutely unacceptable and it is scary to know there are people out there who wishes that upon other people just because of their political opinion!

Actually I was kinda always pretty sure I knew how a lot of people felt about Glenn Beck. I know a lot of people watch him, most for actual content, others for pure entertainment value of what hilariously wacky thing he's going to say next. I'm not a fan of Glenn, because I feel that, while some may listen to him with a grain of salt, others get their own actual viewpoints from what he says, which I think is sad and perhaps potentially dangerous, at times.
While I can see people wanting him to tone it down, get some meds or even be taken off the air, I think (and hope) the rest is hyperbole, no matter how detailed and vicious. Though there are definitely unbalanced individuals who could present actual danger to him, even with the "enemies" he makes, I can't imagine any but a tiny percentage of people who would actually act on the things they say. But then I guess all it takes is for that tiny percent to be in the right place at the right time.
I feel Beck is an alarmist fearmonger, potentially a hatemonger, and people tend to view him as a legitimate news source or journalist, when he's simply an editorialist doing an opinion piece show (like 90% of the rest of the so-called "news" stations), where the outrageous and controversial mean ratings, much like a daytime talk show - he's the news equivalent of Jerry Springer. He, like Jerry, looks to be on the up-and-up, is obviously intelligent, treats his subject with an appearance of professionalism and seriousness, but at the end of the day, it's still a transsexual, stripper-Siamese twin, Nazi Eskimo mime firefighter that married his biker-nun sister.
I'm not saying he's totally off the mark with everything; I think he does catch some things that get ignored or glossed over, and he does make good points now and then, but his showmanship and extremism gets the better of him when he wanders off into laughable conspiracy theories, global dominance fantasies and either misunderstanding or misrepresenting events and policy to conform to his surreal framework of us/them, conservatives/liberals, etc. He buys into the binary political system and arbitrary division and segregation of people far more than any normal citizens, which is fine for him, but when he starts representing that artificial, off-kilter fictional world as reality to other people that seem to depend on him for actual knowledgeable "reporting", then he is doing everyone a disservice.

Walters thinks Glenn is fascinating
Tonight Glenn sits down with the one, the only, Barbara Walters as she named Glenn one of her most fascinating people of 2009. The interview has the gambling world buzzing with excitement, all trying to determine if Glenn will or will not cry during the interview. Also, coming up later this month Glenn has another big appearance - The Jay Leno Show. Don't miss the interview with Walters TONIGHT at 10pm eastern, and Leno next Friday. Glenn talked about the interviews on radio this morning. Ref. Source 8
Glenn apologizes...sort of
Tiger Woods isn't the only one with a scandal on his hands, Glenn has one too. Yes, Glenn has been caught talking about one of his radio sponsors! The horrors! We know the nitwits on the left are desperate to convict Glenn of something, anything--and this is apparently the best they have. The charge? Glenn actually believes in a product and company he talks about. And he says that company is a sponsor every day. Some would call this honesty in advertising...but not the left. (Judging by their ratings, perhaps they're not familiar with the concept of advertising at all.) Should Glenn only talk about companies and products that he doesn't believe in? We're not sure. So, just for the morons out there complaining about Glenn and Gold, here is his 'apology' in the latest Beck Talks video blog. Ref. Source 6
1st: Oprah...2nd: Glenn?
Not many polls or surveys would produce this result, unless the questions were about on camera weight fluctuation. Amazingly, this poll was not about fatness, instead it was about America's favorite TV personality. Glenn debuted in the #2 spot to beat out Jay Leno and others. Sources report out of the 2,276 voters, none voted for Keith Olbermann who did not appear on the list. Ref. Source 6
