U.S. MARINE CONVICTED IN LANDMARK RAPE CASE IN PHILIPPINES
A U.S. Marine was convicted Monday of raping a Filipino woman and sentenced to 40 years in prison, ending an emotional trial that has strained U.S.-Philippine ties and tested a joint military pact.

Beware Soldiers
In a case like this local laws must be obeyed. This is something that is told to all people in the military. As a military Police officer I had to enforce not only military law but the local laws as well. If a person rapes another he or she will have to face both a military and a civilian trial. I am sure that this guy did not come out ahead for his action and will pay a very grave price.
