Post Katrina Tours
Many are flocking to New Orleans and specifically to see the hardest hit areas of Katrina. Would you go on a Katrina Tour?
I think this is sick and disturbing. I did go there but it was with a bus full of people a few chainsaws, tools and a load of disinfection solutions. We were helping those who were less hard hit in cleaning up their homes with our church. People who want to go see the wreckage should be taken to the nice places the people who had to flee their homes, stayed in and talk to them instead. Perhaps that would take some of the curiosity out of them.
This is just wrong wrong wrong. All of the places offering tours should be made to hand the fees collected over directly to those who are now with out a home then made to carry out the dead pets that so many families lost and burn them to prevent the spread of disease. People like this and rubber neckers who want to see the wreckage of an accident on the side of the road have some real mental issues in my mind. I also they do not understand death and devastation.
Once one smells the stench of death and counts the hairs left in a windshield of a wrecked car I am sure they would never return again. Wake up people this place is not a vacation spot it is a place that deserves respect as many died and where left homeless, treat it for what it is, and just help rebuild.
RUINS, DEATHS DON'T STOP FAMILY'S RETURN
Every day, twice a day, the tourists come. They smile -- striking poses on the severed porch just yards from where Robert Green says Ditty died with his two kids strapped to his chest.
