CALIFORNIA SUES 6 CARMAKERS FOR CONTRIBUTING TO GLOBAL WARMING
California filed civil suits Wednesday against three U.S. and three Japanese automakers on Wednesday, accusing them of contributing to global warming.

Ok, well this is an interesting story. I think this is going to really set some precedents and here is why:
1. Global warming is not even agreed upon by everyone as even happening, though I personally believe it is.
2. Global warmings cause cannot be nailed down to even simply man-made or natural.
3. There are many things much worse than cars such as coal plants, natural gas plants, oil plants and others that pollute much more than cars.
4. California has not made a massive attempt to provide accessible public transport to everyone going any where.
In order to win a suit like this they must prove global warming, prove its cause, prove it is mostly due to one specific area, prove that its attempts to help the environment have been circumvented by the car industry. I don't think they can, so I will be interested in the outcome. I must say that I like the idea of making the car companies start making cleaner more efficient cars, but I think this may be a little ridiculous.
I agree with your points, but not your conclusion.
This is California that we are talking about, where judges routinely accept fake science, faulty logic, and political correctness as good jurisprudence.
Since "everyone knows" that cars are "bad", I can almost guarantee that it will take a Supreme Court decision to stop this extremely stupid suit.
