Good day, I'm an individual that is interested in the fashion modelling industry but constantly have to question why does modelling have to mean looking a certain way... I mean European ideologies and what they perceive to be 'beauty' has taken the Caribbean by storm. I believe that people in such an industry have the power to impact on many people and they should use this power to instil an understanding that beauty comes in all shapes, colours and sizes. I know and constantly hear persons starving themselves or simply going to the drastic measures in order to look like what the ideal image of beauty is...fitting into a size 2! I believe the fashion industry should promote fashion and not weight/height issues. Everyone has to wear clothes and so not everyone was born perfect ....therefore fashion modelling should be about incooperating people as a whole not just a certain clique.
thank you.
