Recipe Ingredients Recipe detials:

1/2 c Soft margarine; low fat

1 c Brown sugar, packed

2 Egg whites; slightly beaten

1/4 c Molasses

2 1/3 c All-purpose flour; or

-unbleached 2 ts Baking soda

1/2 ts Ground cloves

3/4 ts Ground cinnamon

1 ts Ground ginger

1/8 ts Ground allspice

1 tb Granulated sugar

Recipe by: Healthy Cooking for Two Remove 1/2 teaspoon margarine; set aside. Combine the remaining margarine and brown sugar in a large bowl; cream until smooth. Add the egg whites and molasses. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cloves, cinnamon, ginger and allspice; gradually add to the margarine mixture, mixing well. Cover and chill the dough for at least 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees; coat cookie sheets with vegetable cooking spray. Roll a teaspoon of dough into a ball; place on the cookie sheets. Grease the bottom of a flat-bottomed glass with the reserved margarine; dip in the granulated sugar and slightly flatten the ball of dough with the glass. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
