Just wanted to say thank you and I appreciate the name change.
It only further serves to illustrate that, though the rules here at I.D. May seem confining at times to some, any thoughtful person serious about their experience and discussions, even if it deals with games, should be able to appreciate the tight administration and discernment, and ejection of those who simply cannot behave in a civil and intelligent manner, but not without giving the person fair warning and a second chance usually, rather than just kicking them ruthlessly - all but the most obvious and extreme cases anyway, which I agree with that treatment also. I do feel such a forum (figuratively and literally) is indeed rare on the internet, especially one covering such diverse topics as this one does.
I mean no offense or embarrassment (as it was my short-sightedness), but I have to admit, initially I was wary, as I glanced at the selection of topics and categories years back. I kept getting stuck on my perception of an aggressive religious aspect (which really isn't even present as my exaggerated initial impression indicated it was), in general and specific. Not that I have anything against religions or any particular flavor, but where I'm from in the Bible Belt/Tornado Alley, religious equates, in general, to fundamentalist fire and brimstone bible thumping and talking in tongues, running around and dancing and spastic gyrations and praises, which, if that's your thing, more power to you, but it's not my cup of iced tea. Given this, I'm not comfortable with a lot of religiously connected things, though I realize it isn't like always the above example in other religions or even denominations of the same faith; I've found that contrary to my initial bias, people here are able to discuss topics, including religion, I'm unused to from religious persons, and equally I was surprised there were different religion or non-religious people here, getting along and interacting like reasonable adults. Again, no mean feat on the internet. So I'd just like to say it is appreciate and keep up the good work here.
