Thanks for this wonderful opportunity. Today I was in Church and my son was getting very tired in Sacrament Meeting and I was thinking how much patience I have developed since I become a mother, I also realized how patience I am when other children are around me making noise, it seems like motherhood open a new window in my life, one I never expect and it is teaching me so much about myself and the great responsibility that I have. My son fall down today and had a 'boo-boo', I cleaned his little wound and put a band-aid and kiss it. Those moments are treasurable in my life because I remember myself being a little one and having my grandmother doing that for me and those things are so important for our children, more than we can realize. I have so much to learn still, but I do hope I have the ability that it takes to raise my child in righteousness, one of the most important qualities I want to teach him is being an empathetic person and serving others. Sometimes I wonder how he will be when he grow up more, sometimes I think if I am really a good mom, sometimes I think how blessed I am in being a mother. Today I heard that Motherhood is the highest calling a person can ever have on Earth. That touched me deeply, I hope to be always worthy of such a blessing. smile.gif

This makes me think about the times when I've seen embarrassed parents in church or other places because their children are noisy or not being good. I always feel bad for these parents. Don't they know that anyone who has had a child has been in their shoes and understands their discomfort? Sometimes I'll make them feel better by saying, "When they are teenages, you'll get your revenge. Then, it will be your turn to embarrass them." LDS, you sound like a great mom because you understand the great responsibility and privilege that motherhood is.

It is sad but not everybody understand their discomfort. I suppose it is connected with a "cultural" thing. Parents here in Trinidad are very rigid and use physical punishment sometimes as the only tool to discipline their children so when they see your kid misbehaving, they cannot understand it since if you see their kids are literally "statues" so they cannot feel what you feel, they actually come and tell you why you are not "disciplining" the child.
And I suppose it does not happen in Trinidad alone, one day I was in a store in the US and my son was like 1 year old and he was miserable crying. An old lady approached me and said "Does he ALWAYS cry like that?" rolleyes.gif

Congratulations mom! Guess its about to be double trouble in the house for mom soon. Having three kids, I can tell you that the second one is just as big of a change as the first. However, the third one is easier to bring along! laugh.gif Hope you had a wonderful mothers day, you deserve it!

Thank you very much Kon! For what I can feel, this baby is going to be as active as Felipe because he moves so much! So Felipe now will have a partner in "crime" laugh.gif and JB and I well...maybe will end up in a mad house. *smile*
