Stop The Lawlessness

I noticed last year around Christmas time, there were very short advertisements attempting to reach out to Trinis and encourage them to do the right thing. The ad was entitled, "Stop the Lawlessness." I remember they used popular personalities to encourage Trinis not to urinate in public and respect others on the road by not "cutting in." I thought that these ads were good but I couldn't help but feel a wave of sadness. We have actually reached the stage where other people have to remind us to be nice, respect the law and those in authority. As a result of these ads, I decided to start this thread.

Do you think these advertisements will have a positive or negative impact on Trinibagonians' behaviour? If the government wishes to assist in encouraging people to respect the law, do you think they should use these ads or find another way?

Lawlessness Stop

Education and communication have always been good tools in reinforcing certain behaviors. The key though is that they appeal to the basic underling moral conviction and values of normal human reasoning and conscience. However, how do you reach the individual whose mind is mentally unbalance, devoid of concern for his fellow human being especially the young and vulnerable. This mind borders on violence, how can you reach him/her before they commit a crime? How many ar out there? There are answers out there and it will take a concerted joint effort of the people and the Government to initiate a path to a solution.

Stop The Lawlessness Caribbean / Tobago & Trinidad

Some Trinis by nature are lawless. Look at how they were looting when that supermarket was on fire. Instead of helping a situation they make it worst and think they are entitled to do it.

I wish it was only in Trinidad that looting occurs when fires break out or some other disaster but that is world wide. Not sure if this should cheer you up knowing your not alone in this issue, or depress you more knowing there is no escaping it anymore.
