Hi Kriptonis, I just saw in your profile that you are from Portugal yet in your reason for joining you put "Caribbean issues", what is your connection or interest in the Caribbean?

Welcome to the Forum, Kriptonis! Glad to have you join us. My daughter's grandmother's family descends from Portugal, so she is 3rd generation here in the US. It's difficult to find genealogical records that I can read Please do explore the boards and join in our many discussions.

Hello Latina, DianeC, LDS_forever and FarSeer (and all others that I might have not seen), and thank you for your welcome!

Sorry about my sloppy introduction, I was in such a hurry to post in other topics that I didn't do a great job at it.

I actually wrote in my profile something about "Caribbean issues" just because I like Enya's song Caribbean Blue and the mood I was when I registered was somewhat "caribbean blue".
It's actually not a decent explanation, but it's the truth

I think forums are the next best thing after the invention of the wheel. I just love to tell everybody how I think and feel (How egocentric am I, right?), just as I like to read what others think about my ideas and other's ideas as well.
I believe in communication very much, that's it. So I guess my natural habitat is a forum like this!

To FarSeer:

That's a really nice coincidence that you have relatives from Portugal, that little tail of Europe!
Guess that phrase is absolutely true, "We live in a small World".
Although I am a little familiarized with english, some words or expressions are hard for me to understand, so I am afraid I didn't understand what you mean with "genealogical records that I can read", sorry.

Kriptonis - "genealogy" is the study and research of family lines, our ancestry. So genealogical records from Portugal are difficult for me because I don't read or speak Portuguese.
