House Democrats re-elect Pelosi as leader despite frustration with election results
Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi survived a challenge from Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan and was re-elected by House Democrats to lead the party for another two years. Pelosi has been the House Democratic leader since 2003, and became speaker when she led her party to the majority in 2006. But Republicans regained control of the House in 2010 and have kept it since then, and Ryan had argued that this year's election results proved the need for new party leadership. Ref. USAToday.
And this is why they shouldn't be career politicians and the biggest plug for term limits. How could she possibly know what average Americans want or need? She hasn't known what it's like to be an average American for decades. Also, she rails against the rich and privileged. Don't get me wrong, I applaud that she made it where she is but her hypocrisy knows no bounds.
How does Ms. Pelosi, at her age, maintain an eight hour marathon speech? She has always been an advocate for immigrants but I have the feeling that what she is doing will not yield much results.

Democrats back Nancy Pelosi as the next House speaker, despite calls for fresh leadership
Nancy Pelosi won support Wednesday from a majority of Democrats to be House speaker, marking an important milestone in her quest to regain the gavel. The backing for her came despite a push from a faction of Democrats who want change in the leadership "Status quo," and it gives her momentum heading into a vote of the full House in January. Ref. That's one of the big downfalls of politics and vintage parties… they keep recycling the same names and faces as though there is no one else that can do the job.

Nancy Pelosi elected House speaker in new Congress. Nancy Pelosi was officially elected the new House speaker on Thursday in a majority vote by the House of Representatives on the first day of the 116th Congress.
As House speaker, Pelosi will regularly face off against President Donald Trump and will preside over an emboldened and energized Democratic majority that is poised to launch aggressive oversight of the President and his administration.
Pelosi also makes history as she reclaims a title she previously held when she served as the first and so far only female House speaker from 2007 to 2011. Ref. CNN.
Oh, oh looks like the momentum that President Trump has been riding on is beginning to fade. Does it all go downhill from here? Nancy Pelosi has been here before and she knows how to negotiate.
