you are racing alone I am just on a Sunday driving. Nice tips in the security thread.

I just chuckled as I think how secure my dads home is now just due to cheapness.

Last year we installed double aluminum storm windows as his 100 year old windows are just to that point of being in need of replacement. So he has on the out side screwed into the frame a double pane alum then 4 inches of air space and a second set of double pane alum storms we cut to fit the inside. They are screwed into place and are very hard to open from the outside as they take a good effort to open from the inside.

Mind you a quick brick is always fast.

Yes brick is very fast but one does not resort to that unless they know no one will hear and investigate. Most crooks will not break a window if they can get by with it. For two main reasons. Number one it is loud and likely to wake up any dog or person who may be home along with the neighbors who naturally nosey. Number two it is messy and they can easily cut themselves leaving valuable DNA on the scene of the crime thus making it easier to track them down.
