Besides the horrible case of a 15 pounds baby dying inside his mother's womb because doctors didn't want to do a C-section, we have the horrendous case of Chrystal Boodoo-Ramsoomair a mother of three, died hours after giving birth to a baby girl by Caesarean section at the San Fernando General Hospital two Fridays ago.
Paula Chester-Cumberbatch, chief executive officer of the South West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA) has been fired with immediate effect. Those responsible for her dismissal stated that it has nothing to do with the recent death of Chrystal Boodoo-Ramsoomair, who died after an alleged botched Caesarean Section. What do you all think?

Comments: I was given a drug that caused me to lose my hearing. I'm not saying I would have refused the drug if I was told of the possible side effects if it was necessary to help me get well. I'm saying I should at least be forewarned of the side effects so in the event that I started experiencing them I would no it's the medication and would be able to notify the doctor. Now I am deaf and and all the other problems that comes with it like lost of income emotional stress not to mention now having to deal with even more insensitive health care workers I learnt that the deaf are not very well treated in my country and not much is being done to assist them... That's another story by itself.

Comments: Do you all remember the case of the 15 years old girl from Tunapuna who gave birth in Mt. Hope and the baby's body was covered by ants? Well, did you all know the baby was immediately cremated without the mother's permission. What is Mt. Hope trying to hide?

There are so many wrong things happening in our hospitals. The nurses and doctors treat patient worst than dogs and are these people's taxes that pay for their salaries. It's a shame really and yes I saw that case of the teen in the news, it was awful.
She should sue them right away! It won't bring back her baby but at least something must be done, it's beyond me how anyone could treat a pregnant woman (regardless of her age) in this way. Shame on the nurses involved on this!
When I saw this young woman on the news I just couldn't stop crying. I wasn't shocked or surprised because over the years we all heard similar stories. My problem here is accountability, who is responsible and HOW they will pay for what they have done!
On a side note, the lady who died in the C-section gave signs that her health was deteriorating and yet nothing was done about it. The C-section was performed by a house doctor and that's against the rules!
