That is the problem with a lot of voters. They either do not vote or they vote because they agree with one issue. A lot do not seem to take the time to get to know the candidates but will go with the one thing they like. People are cattle give them some hay and they will follow you around.
Most people praise the idea that baecause Barack Obama has not dirty laundry he is credible. However, there is always something called "first time offender". What I am trying to say is there is the difference between truly being credible and not being caught with your hand in the cookie jar. Anyone in politics, especially at this level is no assistant to archangels of heaven, so I don't think I buy into Obama, at least not yet. I am looking for the debates between him and Mcclian. I also want to see who he picks for VP.

I think that campaigns like Obama's will open the doors for many junior senators/representatives to jump into the nomination process. Out of the last few presidents, most of them have had little experience in federal government. GWB was governor of Texas...not a senator. Clinton, also, was a little known governor from Arkansas. Bush Sr. was steeped in federal government experience from being VP. Reagan was a governor of California and Carter before him was governor of Georgia. Go back and check, everyone of these guys (except Bush Sr.) said that they were outsiders and were going to change the status quo of Washington. It was a concern for all of them that they had little experience in handling foreign policy, federal economics and basically that the job might be too big for them. Now here is the interesting part...who ran against these guys and lost...
Carter: Ford...doomed from too much stain from his Nixon experience...lost.
ReaganI: Carter...too much federal experience at that point and ineffective...lost.
ReaganII: Mondale...former VP, senator, but didnt help him win against old guy.
Bush Sr: The exception since Carter.
Clinton: Bush Sr...had tons of experience and ineffective economic package...and people got NEW TAXES. People wanted change so badly that Ross Perrot got about 20% of the vote.
ClintonII: Bob Dole for the republicans. He had a lifetimes worth of senatorial experience...but it didnt help.
GWB: Gore had lots of federal experience...VP, Senator and Representative...but LOST.
GWBII: Kerry...longtime Senator and LOST.
And what do we have today...
Obama...1st term Senator and fresh face VS McCain...longtime Senator and Congressional Insider.
History doesnt look too good for McCain on this one.

The Future of Public Campaign Finance Following Barack Obama's Decision to Opt Out of System
By turning down $84 million in federal money, Barack Obama will be allowed to raise and spend an unlimited amount during the election. Obama is the first major party candidate to reject public funds since the system started in 1976. The decision marks a reversal for Obama. Last year, he had pledged to accept public financing if his opponent did as well.

Interesting that Dobson would release the audio of his radio program before it airs. What's his real motive here?

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - As Barack Obama broadens his outreach to evangelical voters, one of the movement's biggest names, James Dobson, accuses the likely Democratic presidential nominee of distorting the Bible and pushing a "fruitcake interpretation" of the Constitution. .... "Even if we did have only Christians in our midst, if we expelled every non-Christian from the United States of America, whose Christianity would we teach in the schools?" Obama said. "Would we go with James Dobson's or Al Sharpton's?" referring to the civil rights leader. Dobson took aim at examples Obama cited in asking which Biblical passages should guide public policy - chapters like Leviticus, which Obama said suggests slavery is OK and eating shellfish is an abomination, or Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, "a passage that is so radical that it's doubtful that our own Defense Department would survive its application." "Folks haven't been reading their Bibles," Obama said. Dobson and Minnery accused Obama of wrongly equating Old Testament texts and dietary codes that no longer apply to Jesus' teachings in the New Testament. |

Planned Parenthood Backs Barack Obama to Reward Pro-Abortion Position
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion business, made it official on Monday and issued its presidential endorsement for Barack Obama. The group rewarded the senator for his speech last year, where he pledged to only appoint abortion advocates to the Supreme Court. "The Planned Parenthood Action Fund is proud to endorse Barack Obama for president of the United States," president Cecile Richards said in a press release LifeNews.com obtained. Richards called him a "passionate advocate" with a "a long and consistent record of standing up for" unlimited abortions. She said Obama has committed to investing "in prevention programs, including family planning services" -- meaning Obama will keep or expand the hundreds of millions of dollars the abortion business receives in taxpayer funds. Obama participated in a conference call today with Planned Parenthood leaders and activists and said, "As president I"ll make sure women have access to [abortion]." "I thank you for your endorsement and your leadership," he added. The press release indicates Obama has received a perfect record from the pro-abortion group on votes in the Senate.

What a coup! Obama gets all three mainstream media (MSM) news anchors to follow him around in the Middle East. Is it really for exclusive interviews? Or are these heavyweights expecting something really big to happen there?

WASHINGTON - Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama drags with him a gaggle of reporters (wire services, newspaper, radio and television) wherever he goes, but when he heads overseas soon, he will have some television news stars accompanying him. rtx5hvb.jpgAll three broadcast television network anchors, ABC's Charlie Gibson, CBS's Katie Couric and NBC's Brian Williams, are negotiating to tag along, and according to the Washington Post they could each have an exclusive interview in different countries. ... The interesting contrast the Washington Post and New York Times make about Obama's trip is that when his rival, Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain, went to London, France and the Middle East no television network anchors joined the trek. |
