Of course he is all about change. He wants to change from the us congressional house to the white house. I wants to change from a senator to a president. All the change he talks about is changing just this and that. I doubt if anything will change with him in office.

What the president can do:

He can appoint people to his cabinet and Federal Judges. However, the Federal Judges do have to go through Senate ratification...which means that the President gets his way only if the Senate is stacked in his favor. Otherwise, the candidate gets BORKED.

He can draft up the US Budget. But yet again, the budget has to go through acceptance in the Congress, so really it is a limited power at best. If the Congress is all in the same direction as the President, a lot can get done. If there is a near 50/50 for and against...it is gridlock as usual.

He can appoint ambassadors and ministers, but again, this has to go through Senate ratification. This usually is not a problem (with the exception of UN Ambassador) as both parties use this to pay back favors...nice cushy jobs with appropriate cushy salaries as well!

Foreign Affairs is probably the area where the President has the most personal influence with little checks and balances. The President and their Secretary of State are the conduit through which America interacts with the world.

The President can also grant clemency or commute judicial sentences as he sees fit. This is typically done at the end of a term so that it takes a long time for the public to digest who got let off and why they might have been let off the hook.

Now one of the REAL powers a President has but is little used is that of Executive Order. A President can issue orders and directives to guide federal operations. They can create new departments and they can issue directives as guidance of federal officers. These can be overturned or determined to be non-legally binding, but that takes time. Presidents don't issue a lot of these type of orders in general.

So looking at that, what room for "Change" can Obama or any other candidate for that matter make? What a President cannot do is change health care (unless they figure out a way to do this as a executive order), take on Big Oil or make our kids smarter. What they can do is inspire legislation from the Congress, give us a balanced budget and improve our image around the globe. Maybe that is enough change...maybe not. I just remember that nearly every candidate for that position (non-incumbent) has talked about change and the US is not a whole lot different from when I first started voting.

Strong case against Obama

Why is Barack Obama trying to shut David Freddoso up? Probably because he has a clear, well laid out argument against Barack Obama that even Barabara Boxer apparently has a tough time disagreeing with. David explains the Born Alive Infant Act so that it cuts right through the political BS and and demonstrates exactly why Barack Obama is the #1 most liberal Senator in the United States Senate.

Glenn Beck: The Barack Obama test

Brad O'Leary, author of The Audacity of Deceit, joined Glenn to talk about some of the issues he came up with while investigating Barack Obama. He goes issue by issue to see how the most liberal Senator in the United States stacks up against the average American. One interesting survey question O'Leary thought to ask was 'how much in taxes should someone pay if they win a million dollars in the lottery?'

Obama Asked to Apologize For Calling Pro-Life Group Liars on His Abortion Vote

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A leading pro-life organization has released a new web ad asking Barack Obama to apologize for saying it lied about his abortion votes. Obama accused National Right to Life of lying when it released documents verifying he voted against medical care for newborns who survive abortions. The dustup surrounds the votes Obama cast against bills in the Illinois legislature to make sure infants aren't left to die after they survive a failed abortion. Obama voted against the bills, he says, because they would have violated Roe v. Wade, yet documents the National Right to Life Committee released weeks ago showed Obama opposed the measure even after supporting a successful amendment to limit its effect on Roe. Those documents were supported by FactCheck, a nonpartisan research group at the University of Pennsylvania, yet Obama still hasn't apologized for calling NRLC officials liars. The pro-life group told LifeNews.com on Friday that it has released a new Internet ad asking him to do so. "Will Obama now apologize for calling us liars when we were the ones telling the truth?"

I do not think he will apologies at all. If he apologize here then he will have to apologize for all the other lies he has told.

Barack Obama's Campaign Sought to Exploit Rape Victim to Attack on Abortion

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A new scandal has erupted for the campaign of presidential candidate Barack Obama and it involves the issue of abortion. New reports indicate Obama's campaign asked an anti-domestic violence group to find a rape victim to attack John McCain and Sarah Palin on abortion or the so-called rape kit hubbub. The controversy may cause some women voters to charge that Obama's campaign unfairly sought to exploit a rape victim for political gain. The news web site Politico says it obtained an email about how the Obama camp contacted domestic violence groups to find a rape victim to use in its commercial. Kiersten Steward, a former aide to a pro-abortion Congressman, apparently served as a liaison between the Obama camp and the groups. "Obviously, this is a big ask and I haven't seen a script but presumably it will be a brief 'this is what happened to me, we need someone who will fight for women like me, these are the guys to do it,'" Steward wrote in a September 15 email Politico obtained. The email went on to say the Obama camp would have a film crew in Washington to film the rape victim and the ad. Politico contacted the Obama campaign and spokesman Bill Burton wouldn't comment on the potential ad or exploiting a rape victim to promote his candidacy. he did release a statement that makes it appear the ad would likely have challenged McCain and Palin on the issue of abortion while trying to appeal to women voters and former supporters of Hillary Clinton.

That's just sick. And reinforces the long-held notion that politicians will stop at nothing to win - nothing at all.
