QUOTE
just voting for him because someone else is, or because he would be the first black president in America

And you know, if I had to choose who would be the first black president, I would probably choose someone a little better, that first has to be an example that can dissipate the racism. I don't think Obama is that type of candidate.

QUOTE
Obama, I've found, has lied a few times during the debates.

You know, McCain lies a lot too during the debate, he also uses a lot of intellectual dishonesty. So, albeit that Obama and McCain both have their flaws, I don't believe that right now, lowering the size of the government is such a good idea. Both candidates will tell you their opinion on how big the government should be, but nevertheless. A big government helps us out of the hole, and a small one lets us stay out.

That's huge. People have a lot of respect for Colin Powell, as do I, and this may change some of those undecided.

Wow, I did not see that coming at all. I completely digress now, Obama might just be something we can't see. Excuse me, I don't even think it is completely Obama. As my government teacher kept saying last year.

QUOTE
It's not that Obama is not going to be elected, it is the continuation of Bush's policies that won't be elected.

What truth to this do I know? Almost none, I don't really know the bush policies as compared to the McCain. I'm just still wondering if it is just Obama's charisma that is inspiring or what?

Obama Barack

Sorry to take away the moment from my American friends across the waters but could it be that he would just like to see Obama, a black man, be in office in support of his race?

Of course Powell would like to see a fellow black man make it to the office of president, but there is no way that he can come out and directly say that or say that that had a significant sway to his support. It had to be a factor. However, I believe that there are things he didnt like about McCain and that is true as well.

NEWSFLASH

All politicians lie or as they might say...streeeeeeeetch the truth to the point where the truth actually isnt a truth and is more like a lie, fabrication, distortion and at best missleading.

What I still love is how we dont really understand all this change that is going to take place. Most everything he has said he will do requires congress not a presidential act and NOW...

he is going to change the WORLD. Well heck, why stop there. I will be the first to suggest. Vote for Obama and we will change the UNIVERSE! YES...the UNIVERSE! Pluto has been promised to regain its place as a planet and he will improve the winters in Uranus. Now we shall all take a moment and rejoice!

I hope his idea of changing the world is where he keeps the affairs of America in America. Nothing worst than seeing our PM give in to a US request just because America is once again changing the world to meet her fancy. The again as was said, its all just a fabrication of the truth. Say anything to get the little lads and lasses to cast their vote now.

Just a question, isn't that called intellectual dishonesty?

So, if he makes America's economy better, wouldn't that then benefit the world? Considering that America is a capitalist country that trades with everyone. Doesn't that have a global effect? With that logic, if McCain fixes the economy, he is changing the world too. Also, America is a center for attention in the entertainment industry, because of Hollywood, am I correct? I'm sure that there will be some sort of indirect effect with what Hollywood believes that could influence the rest of the world, if it is as influential as I've heard.
