Obama citizenship suit tossed
By The Associated Press
Article Last Updated: 10/25/2008 04:25:15 PM MDT

PHILADELPHIA - A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit challenging Barack Obama's qualifications to be president.

U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick on Friday night rejected the suit by attorney Philip J. Berg, who alleged that Obama was not a U.S. citizen and therefore ineligible for the presidency. Berg claimed that Obama is either a citizen of his father's native Kenya or became a citizen of Indonesia after he moved there as a boy.

Obama was born in Hawaii to an American mother and a Kenyan father. His parents divorced, and his mother married an Indonesian man.

Internet-fueled conspiracy theories question whether Obama is a "natural-born citizen" as required by the Constitution for a presidential candidate and whether he lost his citizenship while living abroad.
QUOTE
Rather than simply producing the birth
certificate that would be satisfying proof of eligibility, the
defendants cowered and hid behind legal technicalities, claiming that
Berg had no "standing" to challenge such a thing.

In October, only days after Berg had claimed victory by default
because the defendants had not answered the suit, U.S. District Court
Judge R. Barclay Surrick dismissed the suit, saying Berg had no
standing to challenge Obama's citizenship. Surrick did not define
what would constitute the proper "standing," only to say in his 33-
page order that Congress can make this determination.

This is from an email sent to me, and I can't find any web link for it, but it's reputed to be from (author/journalist/conspiracy theorist) Pat Shannan.

Obama Barack

He is one shady character an I am glad I did not have him running for PM in Canada.

Farseer yes any thing can turn out fine in the end if there is love in the family. I think many feel consequence and the term punishment are the same.

I watched my sister in law live through a baby dieing hours after birth and talked to her about her abortion she had when she was very young. Her father is a minster and it would have been very bad for her. In this case you see an abortion is the lesser of two evils. Yes he is wrong in his thoughts as damage is done to a body and spirit . He is only seeing his daughters and wanting them to go through life then get married and have a child; not teen mother hood.

QUOTE

"When it comes specifically to HIV/AIDS, the most important prevention is education, which should include -- which should include abstinence education and teaching the children -- teaching children, you know, that sex is not something casual. But it should also include -- it should also include other, you know, information about contraception because, look, I've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby. I don't want them punished with an STD at the age of 16. You know, so it doesn't make sense to not give them information."

Perhaps now a better thought can be made on what them man was saying. I completely agree with this statement. I also fully think he is misusing the word punished. He should be saying consequence but I think the over all thought of what he is saying on this is positive and proper. Educate the children in sexual relations....though I prefer to attempt that one with my wife.

My sister in law lives with her choice at 12 to abort but thinks she did make the right decision at the time. 12 and on the street might have been worse. Every case is different due to the circumstance the girl lives in and once done neither choice is easy and both have a long term consequence. I am glad for the ones you mentioned that their families were there for them and it turn out well in the end.

What if the woman was brutally raped. I believe the woman should be left to decide if she wishes to carry that same baby for nine months and not government.

Glenn Beck: Obama Will 'Bankrupt' Coal Industry

If you were trying to get elected President of the United States during a time of economic uncertainty, would one of your policies revolve around bankrupting an entire industry? That's what Obama's energy policy (cap & trade) would do -- according to him! Glenn plays the amazing audio and reacts:

Perhaps coal cutting seems harsh but if the use is not cut back soon the USA ecinomic world we be hit any how as other country will refuse to have factories there or trade with them as their pollution credits would be too high. Leaving it along nor a complete shut down of the plants seems wise to me. A longer term plan needs to be developed and announced.

And you know, personally, I disagree with abortion, but from a political stand point. There is nothing wrong with abortion before 6 months. Before then, it is not considered a life scientifically, and therefore cannot be punished by Law as murder. There, isn't any sort of argument with it, besides a religious argument. But, also personally, I couldn't tell a women not to get an abortion either. I'm not a women, therefore I have no standing to tell what a woman can and cannot do with something I have never, and will never have.

As for the energy policy, I've always like Obama's views on these. This less so than others, but I can see where it can benefit us. I just would have never of took that approach.

AP Does Final Disservice to Voters, Hides Barack Obama's Pro-Abortion Stance

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The Associated Press has done a final disservice to voters as it has through the presidential elections by hiding Barack Obama's pro-abortion stance. In a final comparison piece that will appear in newspapers nationwide today and tomorrow, AP continues to apply just three words to its description of Obama's abortion views. For months, AP has maintained a two-page summary of Obama's and John McCain's stands on various top political issues. Most of the brief position descriptions contain a paragraph or two for each candidate on the given issue. Yet, on the issue of abortion, AP mentions only that Obama "favors abortion rights." There is no mention in the Associated Press piece about how Obama supports abortion throughout pregnancy for any reason, has voted repeatedly for taxpayer-funding of abortion, and opposes a ban on partial-birth abortions. AP also fails to mention anything about Obama's position saying he will sign a bill that would make unlimited abortions the national law and overturn every pro-life law nationwide. Nor did it include any mention of the controversy surrounding his votes in the Illinois legislature against bills to make sure hospital staff provide adequate medical care for newborns who survive failed abortions.
