From your point of view, is America ready for a woman president? I do believe that Obama will have more difficulty in carrying the southern states due in large part to bigotry, but I am not so sure those folks are ready for Hillary either. Of course you are aware that the electoral college ultimately decides who is president and if Obama gets the nomination, there are more than enough votes up north to get him elected.
I am not a big Obama guy, but I definitely see the same signs from the media that I saw when Bill got elected president from out of nowhere. The media does like this guy and his personality plays well for the camera. That is all it took to get Bill Clinton a job for 8 years and it quite possibly is enough to get Obama a job for at least 4 years.
But if we say that he blows away like the wind, who does that bring up front to face the wind? Hillary or John Edwards?

Truewhite, your statement is only correct if YOU plan on voting for Barack Obama.
A few things that need to be addressed.
1. Obama is not muslim
2. Obama did not swear on the Koran (that was part of the email hoax)
3. Obama does support banning automatic weapons. Of course, Bush does now too as well as supporting banning hand guns. If Obama's gun stance is liberal, then Bush is far left.
4. Obama DOES support lowering payroll taxes
5. Obama is not a black supremacist
Obama is a much better choice for president than any of the republican candidates. On the democrat side, only John Edwards is his equal in my eyes.
TrueWhite:
You did not answer the question. Will you vote for Hillary Clinton? Since this is a Obama thread and you say that no one is going to vote for him, then the obvious next choice is Hillary. I just am not picturing you voting for her either. Edwards spends hundreds of dollars on a haircut, so I am assuming he is a bit to "light in the loafers" for your taste, so who on the Democrat side would get your vote?
I seriously believe that the media is lining up behind this guy just like they did Bill. Unless Hillary and Co. can dig up some serious dirt on this guy or really trip him up somewhere soon, I do think she will win the nomination. Worst part for her is that Obama is getting better and better at thinking on his feet and the camera loves this guy.

Barack Obama Celebrates Abortion, Warns Supreme Court Could Reverse Roe
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama celebrated Roe v. Wade on Tuesday as hundreds of thousands of pro-life advocates came to the nation's capital to condemn it. Obama said he's worried the Supreme Court is just one vote away from overturning the infamous ruling that allowed virtually unlimited abortions. "Thirty-five years after the Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade, it's never been more important to protect," legalized abortions. Obama said the Supreme Court's 5-4 decision last April in upholding the national ban on partial-birth abortions could be a harbinger of things to come. "With one more vacancy on the Supreme Court, we could be looking at a majority hostile to a women's fundamental right to choose for the first time since Roe v. Wade," Obama said. "The next president may be asked to nominate that Supreme Court justice. That is what is at stake in this election," he added.
