Well, did he have much of a choice? I wonder if he will be considered less 'holy' by that church now. Better yet, maybe the preacher will have two people to attack now, Clinton and Obama.

QUOTE (CNN)
Barack Obama has resigned as a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, his campaign says.

Obama Barack

It's just one more step to distancing himself from unpopular people and places. Obviously purely political move. So? Where's he going to church now? Some safe non-denominational, non-threatening, generic Christian church? Probably mostly white? How deeply hypnotized are the American people that they won't recognize this for what it is?

They're are dumb enough to just sweep this under the carpet and say good one for Obama. Don't forget America, these things these supposed holy men for Obama preached. This is the doctrine of Obama.

Well, he honestly has no choice. If he rejects the church and clergy, then people say he did it because he had to for the politics. They say he really believes it, but cant let you know he does. If he stays in, then you say that he believes in all the stuff said by each of the preachers (even guest speakers).

Rather off topic, but...
And where did they dig this last guy up from? I am Catholic and I have never heard a Catholic priest speak anything like this and I have been to churches all over the world.

We can argue about the timing of the departure on Obama's part. Of course, it plays into politics as well. If he left the church immediately after Rev Wright's rediculous oratory, then some that support him might think that if they ruffle any feathers, then Obama's going to drop you. So he stays, hoping that the Rev will be quiet and it will show that he will stand by his longer term supporters even if he is promoted.

The key mistake was made in not denouncing it quickly enough. He was probably going to have to leave that church eventually. However, he did need to quickly deal with the issue and not just pass it off as a "well that is crazy uncle Bob for ya" type answer he gave initially.

All that said, he did have to leave. If you are going to represent the people, then you need to represent the majority (in general) of them and the majority do not appreciate Rev Wright's comments.

I have listened to his comments on this on several shows (well after it initially blew out of proportion) and really believe that he doesn't support Rev Wright's statements and finds them actually rediculous. But the one thing that I have seen is that Obama does try to put himself in others shoes, even though he might not agree with them personally. This can be a good or bad trait depending on the level of sympathy he has... Currently, we have a Whitehouse that doesn't listen enough to people and that has been a negative. Next, we might have a Whitehouse that listens too much and lacks any real direction. I am not sure which is worse, but we shall see...

Obama Barack

Maybe he will go to mosque now and reaffirm his life as a muslim again? After all when he was growing up in the middle east that is where he went to church.

Seems like Obama has this on 'In the Bag' as they say.

QUOTE
WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama effectively clinched the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday, based on an Associated Press tally of convention delegates, becoming the first black candidate ever to lead his party into a fall campaign for the White House. The AP tally was based on public commitments from delegates as well as more than a dozen private commitments. It also included a minimum number of delegates Obama was guaranteed even if he lost the final two primaries in South Dakota and Montana later in the day.

If it becomes official then we have to see who will be VP.

America has disappointed me, but there is still hope, we cannot allow Barack to reach D.C.
