I just watched this on the news, really tragic. The neighbors and family are totally traumatized that they struggled so hard to get the little girl released from the gate, and had to watch her die.
I really feel for the family.I do think that there are going to be plenty of health and safety questions asked, as these were new build houses, and some of the building works are still incomplete!
Very sad indeed.
I am very familiar with electronic or electric powered gates. Most I have seen have a safety strip at the bottom that will cause them to stop and reverse direction if they encounter any obstacle. I wonder if the gate that pinned her did not have this installed yet or was not designed with this feature?
