Pilots say laptop use led to their distraction
Two Northwest Airlines pilots have told federal investigators that they were going over schedules using their personal laptops in the cockpit ? a violation of airline policy ? while their plane overflew their Minneapolis destination by more than 100 miles, the National Transportation Safety Board said yesterday. Flight schedules were enough distraction on their personal computers to have them over fly their intended airport by over a hour. I believe there is a good reason why the parent company says no personal laptops in the cockpit. This is a good example why.
