Trusses
Trusses are popular roof choice

It is not uncommon for remodels to call for changes to a roof. You may be adding a new addition, which will require a roof for the addition and perhaps changes to your existing roof. Or you may be adding a second story, which will most definitely call for a new roof.

Trusses while fast and cheap I think waste a great deal of space and make any simple home renovation much more difficult. I think I might be biased though due to the 10 times I have had to put on my respirator from work so I could just move a ceiling light or add insulation around the skylight while crawling through trusses and trying to stay on the beams so as not damages the ceilings. If it were stick framed I could easily have put vat insulation and a chip board floor making any roof or renovations easier.
My fathers house is stick framed and I think it makes for a more solid roof. After all contractors are only interested in what meets the bear minimum of the government building code and is fastest and cheapest to install. (no offense to contractors out there )
