Of course the opposite of this is to say that Romney is not likeable and I can see why, but this is about Huckabee, so read on:

Huckabee's 'likability' gave him the edge over Romney DES MOINES, Iowa - Mitt Romney's faith wasn't solely to blame for his second-place finish behind Mike Huckabee in Thursday's Iowa Caucus. But religion certainly played a role. Exit polls showed an unusually high number of evangelical Christians - some 60 percent - voted in the caucus. But their support of Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas and an ordained Southern Baptist minister, shouldn't be construed as a vote against Romney, experts said. Voters just liked Mike. Mike Huckabee, last night during his speech, said that we need to align our constitution, indeed change our constitution, to reflect gods laws. I'm not voting for someone who wants to change our constitution based on personal religious views. Thats insane and I hope our country see's it for what it is, the making of a theocracy!
Pro-Life Former Candidate Duncan Hunter Endorses Mike Huckabee's GOP Bid
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee picked up an endorsement from former competitor Duncan Hunter, a pro-life congressman from California. Hunter dropped out after the South Carolina vote following a respected but unsuccessful attempt to win the Republican nomination. Hunter was considered one of the strongest pro-life candidates in the race as he opposes both abortion and embryonic stem cell research and has a 100 percent pro-life voting record. "I got to know Governor Huckabee well on the campaign trail," Hunter said in a statement provided to LifeNews.com. "Mike Huckabee is a man of outstanding character and integrity. I saw that character over the last year of campaigning and was greatly impressed," Hunter added. "The other Republican candidates have many strengths and I wish them all well. My personal choice is Mike Huckabee."

Mitt gave up and he was doing better than Huckabee, but it seems like Huckabee now is renewed to fight on:

Mike Huckabee Soldiers On After Mitt Romney Vacates Republican Race Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Mitt Romney left the Republican presidential race on Thursday but his departure only emboldened Mike Huckabee and encouraged him to continue. Huckabee's campaign says Romney's vacating the quest for the GOP nomination will make it easier for the former Arkansas governor to gain support from conservatives. Huckabee national chairman Ed Rollins told FOX News that Romney's exit "gives us a chance to run and contrast ourselves against McCain." "We're still in the race and we're still competing for delegates," Huckabee's campaign manager said. On the heels of Romney's announcement, Huckabee's camp released a press release saying he would attend private meetings and tape guest appearances on national television programs this evening in New York City. Ole Huck doesn't stand a chance. McCain is gonna punish him. The reason is that Huckabee can't get moderates and is focused to much on social issues on the religious side to get the majority of Republicans. If he toned it down, maybe. Unfortunately, I believe he is the reason that Romney couldn't win. He took away too many conservative religious right votes. Huckabee should have stayed behind the pulpit and let the politicians run the race. I never liked preachers running for office.
Mike wanted to delay the inevitable:
