ect Therapy Electroconvulsive

This is the idea of shocking someone to temporarily reset the brain. It appears to work in the short term, but long term isn't really known. The majority of doctors think its a great procedure for people with severe chronic depression. I think that if it works long term, then go for it if the person agrees. Its got to be rough to go through life depressed all the time, its not normal. If this truly can help, then I am all for it, but I have concerns about the long term effects on the brain. It essentially is causing a seizure in the brain, causing a reset. Seizures general damage the brain, not help it, so I'm skeptical about the permanent benefits of this procedure.
