Before cable became reliable in my small town, I had directV, but switched to Dish Network. I liked Dish a whole lot more than DirectTV. First off, the installer was much better for Dish. He immediately told me the best way to mount it, but that it was more expensive and would take nearly three times as long plus an extra day, but it was worth it. He took the time to dig a hole, fill it with concrete, fill the metal pole with concrete, then mount onto that pole. I rarely had any connectivity issues, only during bad storms, and never longer than 30 minutes or so. Customer service wise, they were about the same, except that when ever I had an issue with Dish, I would get free PPV coupons in the mail. Dish was also cheaper for me. Over all, I prefer Dish over Direct TV any day. But I have cable now, cheaper and faster internet.
