international QUOTE
1. Random killings (Victim does not know killer or who sent him, not personal) vs targeted killings (Includes domestic)

Hi Paul, with the information provided by the media it is hard to distinguish random killings vs. Targeted killings (Besides domestic). It gives room to a lot of speculation, particularly when the family states that the victim did not know the attacker/attackers or the police clearly has some idea but they are not sure.

Title: Have the statistics been updated this month?

Comments: Season's Greetings, I was wondering if the statistics for the unfortunate high murder count for this year has been recently updated on the TT crime statistics website. I saw two or three days ago it being at 448. That amount is still the same today (Boxing Day). Can someone please let us know if this is an accurate and updated statistic posted on your website? Thank you.

Alex, the current figure is 450 for the year thus far but based on the trend it will be higher before the year is up.

Title: Murder stats

Comments: Whatever the final figure is at the end of the year, it is not just good enough. The politicians and the police are helping in playing political games when it comes to really trying to reduce the annual rate of murders here. We will get the same promises and same attitudes if the rate suddenly jumped to 900 next year as long as the victims continue to be members of our ordinary citizens. The truth of the matter here is, that our politicians and the police are now immune to the daily slaughter of our innocent ordinary citizens which are treated as expected and only as crime statistics. It would be quite a different story if politicians and policemen became the daily target for our random killers. The politicians and the police at present remain the untouchables. However, as the crime situation get worse they too may become some of those daily dead victims on the slabs at the mortuary. Only then we may see the implementation of the death penalty and other draconian measures in a real effort to stem the flow of random killings on this island.

Title: Stats reporting

Comments: Can you please update your statics for murder for 2017. The newspapers reported at least 9 murders and 2 bodies found by Jan 6 2017 yet this site is reporting 6 murders up to Jan 11 2017. Thanks to the site for the valuable information especially since the information is relatively live while the TTPS information is delayed. Looking forward for corrections and for you keeping up the good work.

Title: Murder count

Comments: Can anyone explain why the murder count for the year is way higher than reported on this page, I have lost count on numerous occasions and I usually visit this page for an update but on many occasions it's always wrong, is it lack of updating or is it deliberately being stifled for some unknown reason?

Not being stifled at all, murders happen so often that by the time we update TTCrime.com another 3 murders have happened.

Comments: It is quite understandable why your count can be somewhat delayed as you try to provide accurate statistics. The issue is far bigger than 'accuracy of your count."
The country is now bordering on a 'state of complete mayhem.'.
