You know what? I think 2013 murder poll are going to be just as big and worse as the one in 2008, remember? The murder poll in 2008 was 550, which was really bad at that time, but if the police is able to do their job properly the murder poll for 2013 might drop before it reaches to a big amount of murders.

Title: Crime Statistics 2013

Comments: I have been recording the murder rate for 2013 and there have been 89 murders to date. Every name of victim, date, location and circumstance are recorded on a daily basis. I recorded 423 murders from daily media reports for 2012. Statistics are being manipulated downwards for some reason.

Statistics are being manipulated downwards for some reason.

This has been brought up many times: Varrying Murder Rate Figures. There is obviously a difference between when you hear reported as a murder and what the police's final figure of murder cases are for any particular period. For TTCrime we tend to track media reports as they happen and in many cases although they report daily cases that lead to one figure their final figure is different.

Title: Kidnappings

Comments: I was looking [through your] stats on kidnapings but for the year 2000 or 2001 the first big kidnaping case was that of Camille Bobart from San Fernando how come that was left out?

There are different 'categories' of kidnapping, our list keeps track of kidnapping for ransom. Was that case based on ransom? Do you have a source?
