True Manhood

True Manhood

"Good men sometimes make mistakes. A man of integrity will honestly face and correct his mistakes, and that is an example we can respect. Sometimes men try but fail. Not all worthy objectives are realized despite one's honest and best efforts. True manhood is not always measured by the fruits of one's labors but by the labors themselves--by one's striving."
-- D. Todd Christofferson, "Let Us Be Men," Ensign, Nov. 2006, 47-48

Manhood True

This is so true. It reminds me of Joseph Smith and when someone came to tell him that a person was saying something that wasn't very nice about him, his first reaction was : What am I doing that I am giving this impression to this person? He said then he changed whatever he needed to. This is true manhood and womanhood, honestly correct your mistakes and improve your life without becoming quick to get offended.

This is a very powerful principle when applied to repentance. Reminds me of the phrase:

"Weak men excuse their bad habits; strong men abandon them."
